1955 1900C SS Zagato double bubble
1955 1900C SS Zagato
This vehicle ran the Mille Miglia in 1955 and has had more than it’s share of racing history around the world. This rare Zagato aluminum bodied car is one of only about 6 that have the “double bubble” roof. The vehicle came into the workshop in late 2023 in need of a heavy dose of correction work after having restored by a non-Alfa shop. I rebuilt and hand made new clutch linkage, re-bushed the rear suspension, repaired the brake system, blueprinted the 5 speed transmission and made a lot of unavailable hardware for this wonderful Alfa Romeo. It is now driving the way it should be and will likely re-visit the Mille Miglia and several other rallies in the coming years.
