ST inspired1970 911

1970 Porsche 911t ST -esque

Restored for a customer during 2017 this 1970 911T started life as a standard narrow body 911 with a 2.2 carbureted engine. We found this vehicle abandoned after it had served as a POC race car in the late 80’s and early 90’s and it served as the perfect blank slate to start a DV special build. We took the chassis and fully stripped it to the bare shell and then installed it onto a Celette frame fixture and then ensued on building this 911ST-esque replica. We took some liberties in the body work and styling and the goal was to deliver a clean, minimalistic 911 that let it’s natural beauty shine with many bold but understated features. The interior was treated to period Recaro sport seats, the finest woven leather/suede and a custom DV gauge set. The car is powered by a 3.2 liter Carrera engine coupled to a 5 speed 915 gearbox with limited slip. The suspension was restored to a very OEM spec with slightly uprated spring and damper rates and spherical bushings throughout for a good compromise between canyon carving performance and daily driver compliance. Wheels are 15” Fuchs modified to maximize the extra space we created with the ST flares. The braking system is upgraded to Tarox 6 pot front kit with Carrera aluminum rear brakes. The cooling system features finned lines with a fender mounted cooler. We are very happy with the results.
