Dorian’s 1963 1/2 Ford falcon sprint (SOLD)

1st year v8 falcon

In late 1963 Ford released its first unibody ‘thin wall” v8 powered vehicle, the Falcon and Futura. This 1963 Falcon Sprint was novel in it’s day in that they were delivered with a 260 cubic inch Windsor V8 and had an available floor mounted 4 speed gearbox which was known as a “top loader”. The body was Ford’s first unibody car and featured a swooped “fast back” design with a pillar-less window design. I’ve always been attracted to this particular design and finally found the right car a few years ago. Over the past few years I’ve upgraded the suspension, brakes and drivetrain to mimic what a sport minded canyon carving Falcon owner might have done in the early 60’s. There is no modern tubular suspension or performance mods in this car, everything is 60’s period correct with the exception of the Autometer tachometer and Alternator. The engine is the factory 260ci v8 but with a performance cam and long tube headers. The wheels are American Racing 14x6 “Torque Thrusts”, truetrac locking limited slip rear end installed in factory 8 inch rear axle. It is an absolute blast to drive and make noise in.
