1974 Alfa romeo gTV 2000 (pending sale)
This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 received a complete mechanical refresh by DV Mechanics in 2022 and has since only been driven about 500 break in miles. The car received a paint refresh sometime in the late 90’s in the current maroon but the original color is Rosso Alfa. Original color is only evident inside the trunk. Floorpans, rockers, and coachwork is all original and solid. In the past few months the car received a serious amount of upgrade and maintenance work all focused on making for a period-correct 70’s “gentleman’s rally” look/feel with performance that will put a smile on your face.
Engine/Drivetrain details: High-performance built 2000cc (1974 block and head) consisting of the following : Cylinder head: Ported and polished, big SS valves, Isky valve springs, performance camshafts and three angle valve job. Block: new Motronic 10.5:1 pistons/liners, vapor blasted block with 2/4 oil modification, blue printed oil pump, line bore checked, balanced and nitrided crank, King bearings, ARP rod bolts, Crank: Standard rod and mains on factory “red” crank with journals that measure .0002 to .0003 inches larger than common crank, balanced with slotted oil pick up holes. . Induction: Weber 40DCOE carburetors on European intake manifold, DV custom induction filter setup comprised of 40mm intake trumpets, custom filter backing plate, ITG foam pod filter, Centerline billet carburetor support strut. Ignition/Electrical: 123 Bluetooth distributor with silicon wires, Denso lightweight alternator. Gearbox/differential: Fully rebuilt gearbox with new Goetze sychros/dogs/hubs, HD clutch with Spruell racing driveshaft guibo system, Alfa 4.10 LSD rear end. Exhaust: Alfaholics full SS system Lambda Boss upgrade, SS clamp upgrade.
Suspension/Brakes/Wheels: Centerline lowering springs, Koni dampers, all worn suspension bushings were replaced during the mechanical restoration. Wheels are 14x6 minilite style with fresh Pirelli cn36 tires.
Interior of the car is black vinyl with a MOMO steering wheel.
In summary Though not a full restoration, this car was built from a solid starting point and is ready for many miles of fun canyon runs and road trips without worrying about ruining a garage queen paint job. It has a very strong engine and transmission along with all maintenance allowing it to be ready to enjoy and go anywhere with uumph and for a reasonable budget.
